An advanced professional live training to prepare clinicians and coaches to work with children and families affected by Sex Addiction. 

During this interactive and introspective training, participants will first receive foundational education around key topics like developmental psychology, attachment theory and interpersonal neurobiology. Next, participants will explore their own family legacies and cultural considerations, understanding how those factors commonly show up when working with our clients. Finally, participants will come away with evidence-based practices for working with families of different ages and configurations, with valuable access to Eidens’ signature Family Disclosure Process materials. 

Betrayed Families trainees will:

• Gain a general understanding of how addiction affects the family system.
• Understand generational legacies in ourselves and our clients.
• Learn how attachment theory and interpersonal neurobiology affect family dynamics.
• Gain a better understanding of developmental traumas and their consequences.
• Identify warning signs in children and teens, including indicators that may suggest need for therapeutic help.
• Explore the Family Disclosure Process, utilizing worksheets designed to:
• Evaluate readiness for family disclosure
• Prepare, guide and provide support for each family member
• Outline expectations, create safety plans and implement self-care strategies for the entire family.
• Learn how to encourage family involvement in the recovery process.
• Address cultural considerations present across a diverse spectrum of families.
• Learn how to deal with special circumstances that arise when clients are religious leaders, community leaders, public figures, etc.
• Reflect on personal family culture, and understand how personal experiences impact our work with children and families.
• Understand ethical considerations when working with children and families, including cases involving referrals, child protective services, parenting evaluations, family law, etc.
