Just over ten years ago, a beacon of hope emerged for partners betrayed by sex addiction. APSATS was founded with a singular vision: to illuminate the path of healing for partners who've grappled with the profound impacts of their partner's sexual addiction or serial infidelity.
The trauma experienced by these partners is deep, real, and often misunderstood. But APSATS chose to see it, name it, and address it with the revolutionary Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model (MPTM). A decade later, we remain unwavering in our mission, having held over 30 trainings and professional developments in 2022 and 2023 alone, touching lives across four continents.
In Dr. Barbara Steffens' (APSATS founding President) words, “The partner of a sex addict seeks what she cannot find: safety in an unsafe situation.” But with the MPTM training, we've strived to work with clinicians and coaches to help partners restore that safety, piece by piece.
