Terri Burns is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive experience guiding couples, families, and individuals toward lasting change. Grounded in the understanding that a healthy family system begins with a strong partnership, Terri specializes in couples therapy. She is trained in the Gottman Method, holds certification as a Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, and is a Certified Clinical Partner Specialist with the Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists (APSATS). Her additional expertise includes affairs recovery, trauma resolution, and addiction counseling.
As a Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, Terri prepares premarital couples for enduring, joyful marriages. She has also led workshops on couples enrichment and betrayal trauma, helping participants rebuild trust and resilience. For families and individuals, she employs Solution-Focused Therapy to create tailored treatment plans, often incorporating creative tools such as sand tray work to foster insight and healing. Terri is also trained in grief therapy, supporting clients through loss and transition.
Prior to her counseling career, Terri spent 28 years as an elementary school educator in Texas. A Dallas native, she earned her bachelor's degree in Education from the University of North Texas and completed her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling at Amberton University.
