About me

I specialize in work with individuals, couples, and families who have been affected by compulsive sexual behavior/sex addiction and intimate partner betrayal. As a trauma therapist I also have experience working with familial and other relational betrayals, childhood sexual abuse, sexual trauma, grief and loss, parental estrangement, high-conflict couples, relationship problems, and family of origin issues.

I have a passion for working with betrayed partners, both women and men, In our work together, I can help you make sense of what you are experiencing and partner with you as you grieve, create a stronger sense of self, heal from losses, repair relational bonds, and move towards a reimagined future. As a family systems therapist, I understand that sex addiction affects the entire family system and that while our intimate relationships can bring joy, vitality, and meaning to our lives, they can sometimes bring us deep pain and confusion.

I prioritize creating a safe space for you where you can feel understood, accepted, and heard. I approach my work with clients with respect, humility, and a deep appreciation for your strengths – including having the courage to reach out for help with your current circumstances. I bring deep professional and personal experiences to my work with clients, integrating my first career in academia with my own lived experiences with addiction in my family of origin, trauma, and recovery.

I believe that positive, transformative change and growth are possible. Working with me you can expect an open, non-shaming, collaborative stance; a clinical approach that is trauma informed and tailored to your needs; and a research-oriented practice where empirically tested tools and interventions are used.

I earned a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in Couple and Relationship Therapy from National University. I hold a PhD in Education from the University of Illinois. I am a Certified Clinical Partner Specialist (CCPS) candidate credentialed by The Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists (APSATS). I am also a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) candidate credentialed by International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). I am trained in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), Emotion Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Brainspotting, Levels 1 & 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and I am also a Certified Professional Coach (CPC). Located in Cashmere, Washington.
