Susy Newman is passionate about helping individuals and couples heal from the deep pain of betrayal trauma and relational wounds. She provides a compassionate, grounded space where you can process overwhelming emotions, regain clarity, rebuild trust in yourself and others, and move toward healing and wholeness.
She believes that through the counseling process, you can gain the insight, tools, and confidence needed to navigate life's most difficult challenges with greater resilience and hope. Her desire is for you to experience deeper fulfillment in your personal identity, emotional well-being, and relationships.
Susy specializes in betrayal trauma recovery, divorce recovery, relationship issues, boundaries, neurodiverse couples, grief and loss, depression, life transitions, and spiritual concerns. She is also trained in EMDR therapy, an evidence-based approach that helps process unresolved trauma and reduce the impacts of traumatic experiences.
Originally from California, Susy and her family moved to the Denver area in 2005 after living in Europe for 17 years. Her cross-cultural experience includes ongoing work with refugees in the Middle East, where she travels with a medical team to provide counseling support to refugees.
Susy earned her Master's Degree in Community Counseling from Denver Seminary. Outside of counseling, she enjoys gardening, creating pottery, and spending time with her family. She and her husband have been married since 1988 and have two adult chlldren and two grandchildren.
