About me

My name is Rachel Strong Smith.

Transforming Betrayal Trauma Into Authentic Living:
I understand betrayal trauma because I've lived it. After experiencing the devastating impact of betrayal firsthand, I found support that helped me transform my life from constant trauma, isolation, emotional suppression into authentic connection and boundaried living. This personal journey, combined with extensive training and specialized credentials, positions me uniquely to guide others through their own healing process.

My Journey to Healing:
When I found out about my husband's infidelity, I tried to cope with the trauma of his acute and chronic behaviors for over two decades by suppressing myself, isolation, hypervigilance, and hustling. I unconsciously hoped these survival strategies would ease the destruction I faced, but the situation simply deepened my emotional wounds until I reached a breaking point that demanded real change.

When I got to that breaking point, I turned to specialized resources such as betrayal trauma coaches, trauma-informed therapists, support groups, 12-step programs, podcasts, books, and evidence-based courses. Building my support team while developing readiness to implement new tools set me on a path toward genuine recovery and deeper self-understanding.

Through this process, I learned to feel emotions safely, establish boundaries aligned with my values, recognize what's truly within my control, and rebuild trust in myself and my Higher Power. Today, I live an authentically boundaried life filled with genuine connections and inner peace.

How I Support Your Healing:
I guide clients in reconnecting with their authentic selves and find peace amidst trauma and chaos. My approach combines evidence-based modalities with deep empathy born from personal experience. Whether you're just beginning to recognize betrayal trauma's impact or you've been actively working toward recovery for a while, I meet you where you are.

I've witnessed that genuine connection, to self and others, is essential for truly thriving after betrayal. My role is to walk alongside you as you develop connection to yourself, create sustainable boundaries, process trauma safely, and reclaim your authentic voice.
