About me

My name is Phylis Frye, and I am passionate about creating a safe and encouraging space where clients feel comfortable sharing and exploring their life stories. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with individuals and couples from a wide range of ages and cultural backgrounds.

My own journey of healing from betrayal trauma involved intensive counseling and intervention, which significantly strengthened my marriage and fostered substantial personal growth. It is my heartfelt desire to help others navigate the challenges of their own healing and recovery. I believe that my personal experience with trauma, along with my understanding of parenting and women's health and wellness, allows me to provide meaningful support to clients facing similar and different circumstances. As a woman of faith, spirituality has been a vital part of my journey, and I am comfortable incorporating this into counseling for clients who desire it. My primary counseling approach is based in family systems theory, and I incorporate experiential techniques in my work.

Before transitioning to mental health counseling, I gained valuable professional experience in business and K-12 educational leadership. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Harding University, a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from California Baptist University, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Additionally, I am a Certified Clinical Partner Specialist through the Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists. In my free time, I enjoy exercising, gardening, reading, hiking, and working on puzzles. I also love spending time with my husband of 34 years, our two adult sons, and our friends.
