I am Michelle Russell, a sometimes-reluctant passenger on life's “Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.” Yet, I've found that I am passionate about accompanying others as they too find themselves on this very same, often scary, ride; it always helps to know you are not alone, and because others have gone before you, you know there is a pathway to the other side.
I understand from personal experience the challenges and difficulties encountered while journeying through life. After dealing with cancer as a young adult, experiencing infertility, failed adoptions, and other losses, I felt God calling me to walk with others as a licensed counselor.
In 2020, I learned of my husband's lifetime sex addiction, and, after 37 years of marriage, I began yet a new journey of pursuing healing. As a result, God birthed a passion in me to become a life coach in order to serve and support other women who are walking similar paths. In all of the pain, confusion, and devastation that sexual betrayal leaves behind, I firmly believe that the good plans God has for each of us cannot be changed by the actions of someone else, not even betrayal by a partner or spouse.
I feel privileged to partner with others as they learn to live in their true identities, even in the aftermath of betrayal.
I am a board-certified coach, and APSATS Certified Partner Coach, a certified trauma and resilience coach, and a certified grief coach. I am also Doorway of Hope and CDGC trained. I facilitate groups for women who have experienced sexual betrayal and I coach betrayed partners as they negotiate the healing process. I specialize in grief in betrayal, and I support partners through the Full Therapeutic Disclosure process. I have a variety of fuzzy-faced children that most people call pets. I enjoy living in rural Ohio, exploring the countryside on my bike, hiking, walking, and spending time with Jesus and other friends.
