Johanna Dillenbeck, PhD, LCMHC-D, LPC, CCPS, CSAT. My clinical practice is centered on providing safety and empowerment in my work with individuals, couples, and group members who are seeking to heal from relational trauma. My research on the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model (MPTM) has underscored the importance of mental health professionals specializing in treatment for betrayal trauma and compulsive sexual behavior to validate a partner's trauma during and post-discovery of intimate betrayal. I bear witness to the healing that occurs from recognizing and demystifying compulsive sexual behavior for the betrayed and the betrayer, while emphasizing the necessity of felt safety for the betrayed. In ongoing supervision with experts in the field of betrayal trauma, sexual compulsivity, relational trauma, and intimacy wounds, I gain access to resources and approaches that benefit my clients. As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC-D-NY ), a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-MI & NJ), a Clinically Certified Partner Specialist (APSATS), a Disclosure Guide (Kintsugi Recovery Partners), and a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (IITAP), I am well-equipped to guide my clients on their healing journey.
My commitment to ongoing training and professional supervision is a testament to my dedication to providing the best care for my clients. This commitment provides me with a framework for empowering clients to participate in therapeutic interventions that consider their unique needs for health and wellness, physically, psychologically, socially, and spiritually. I am trained in attachment-focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (AF-EMDR), Internal Family Systems, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
