Frequently Asked Questions about

APSATS 4 Day MPTM Training

1. Who can attend this training?

Our training program is geared towards helping professionals such as therapists, coaches and medical professionals.

2. Can students attend? Is there a reduced rate for students?

Students who are in their advanced degree programs to become professional therapists (ex. Counseling, social work, psychology, MFT, etc.) OR who are in a qualified coaching program may take the training. In fact, we encourage students to attend! Currently, there is no reduced fee for students.

3. What if I am not a coach, a therapist or pastoral care provider? Can I still attend?

Again, the material and experience of our MPTM training is geared towards those trained to be helping professionals. Exceptions may be allowed on a case-by-case basis.

4. I’m a partner and want to attend to learn to help others. Can’t I come?

We’re glad you want to learn to give back and help others! We ask that you begin a coaching or graduate program prior to attending this training. The materials and experience of this training can be triggering so we recommend you check with your therapist or talk to an APSATS trainer before you decide to attend the training to help determine your readiness.

5. Is there a payment plan for the training?

No we do not offer payment plans. We use Stripe for our payments and with that you can use a credit card. You are not fully registered until payment is received. APSATS is excited to announce the recent creation of the Barbara Steffens Scholarship fund. We are pleased to offer this lasting tribute to a woman who pioneered the betrayal trauma perspective and is acknowledged as one of the leaders in our field. In her honor, a scholarship has been created to assist others in furthering their skill set, education, and implementation of the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model. 6. Once I complete the 4-day training, what are the next steps to become certified?

Once you complete the training, you may move towards certification. You start that process when you begin Consultation Supervision with one of the APSATS-approved supervisors. You’ll be required to have 30 hours of consultation supervision and demonstrate at least 125 contact hours with clients utilizing the MPTM Model. We will go over this in more detail during the training.

7. We love what you are doing! How do we sponsor a training?

APSATS loves to have organizations “sponsor” or exhibit at our trainings. Many have paid for lunch for a day for our face-to-face training, or others just contribute financially. Our sponsors are then able to provide information and marketing materials to our trainees. APSATS maintains the right to accept or decline sponsorship requests. Contact us at [email protected] for more information

8. I can’t attend the training but would love to enable someone else to be able to be trained. How do I do that?

We welcome your donations to assist others who may need some financial help. You can donate through the APSATS website or by check to our office, made out to APSATS.
