This professional development offering equips clinicians, coaches, and birth professionals to more thoroughly prepare to support clients experiencing the unique impacts of betrayal trauma during the perinatal period and introduces ways the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model (MPTM) can support a framework of attunement and empowerment throughout the perinatal journey. 

Presentation Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

• Participants will be able to define three overlapping features of perinatal mood disorders and betrayal trauma in order to create a corresponding referral or treatment plan.
• Participants will be able to gain pertinent information necessary to begin creating practical strategies for supporting clients in safely integrating their OB/GYNs, nurses, and doulas into their support team.
• Participants will be able to identify three specific ways betrayal trauma may uniquely impact labor, delivery, and postpartum adjustment—and recommend at least two boundary-setting or self-advocacy interventions to support perinatal safety and empowerment during each of these time periods.

Casey Allison is a Pastoral Partner Betrayal and Sexual Addiction Professional holding multiple credentials. Mother of 9 biological children, the combination of perinatal mental health disorders and betrayal are a part of her personal story. Casey has been conducting informal research surveys on perinatal betrayed partners since 2021 and partners with obstetricians and doulas serving this population to help create better mental health outcomes for their patients.
